Wood burning, natural gas, or propane, can be used to fuel fire pits. Wood burning fire pits are becoming less common due to burning bans in most cities, but the crackle of a natural wood fire pit is hard to beat.

Natural gas is the cleanest and easiest way to enjoy a fire pit. Proximity to your gas meter can make a difference in cost. Natural gas fire pits require a lot of BTU's in order to produce a comfortable flame, requiring a large gas line in most cases. Add some electricity and turning on and off the firepit can be as simple as flipping a switch.
